Medchal MLA and former minister Malla Reddy, who is trending on the social media for his unique style of speeches, has found himself embroiled in yet another controversy.
Congress leaders have made sensational allegations against him and demanded his disqualification as an MLA for allegedly submitting a false affidavit in the last Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media today, TPCC campaign committee member Kota Srinivas Goud claimed that Reddy and his son-in-law, Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, had concealed assets worth hundreds of crores and misled the Election Commission and the public with false declarations.
Goud alleged that Malla Reddy failed to disclose ownership of 21 acres of land worth about Rs 200 crore in Pochampally, Kandlakoya and Dhulapally villages of Medchal-Malkajgiri district in his affidavit.
He also claimed that Rajasekhar Reddy did not declare ownership of two acres of land worth over Rs 100 crore in Dhulapally.
He said that the allegations were based on solid information obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act, and demanded that the memberships of both the father-in-law and son-in-law be cancelled immediately.
The Congress would soon approach the Election Commission and the High Court seeking their disqualification, he said.
He added that he would also meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and file a formal complaint on the matter.
Goud also alleged that many more irregularities related to Malla Reddy would soon come to light.
