Congress senior leader and MLC Paladugu Venkata Rao, on Wednesday, expressed his objection to the state government providing security to padayatras and deekshas of the TDP and YSR Congress party leaders.
In a press statement at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Paladugu Venkata Rao said that providing heavy security for N Chandrababu Naidu and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is causing a huge burden on the state's exchequer.
Paladugu appealed to the government to withdraw the security provided for the yatras, and asked DGP V Dinesh Reddy to file a petition in the court seeking its advise.
The Congress MLC also appealed to the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the DGP to attest to the burden the security provision is causing at the cost of public money.
He also advised the yatra leaders to address the farmers and others through the media instead of engaging in padayatras and deekshas. (INN)
