CLP Meet To Discuss Polavaram Issue

The Telangana Congress Legislature Party is likely to discuss the Polavaram Project and the merging of Khammam district's 7 mandals into Andhra Pradesh.

The Telangana Congress Legislature Party will meet in Hyderabad on Wednesday to discuss various issues concerning the new State.

According to sources, the TCLP meeting will be held immediately after the conclusion of the Assembly session on Wednesday.

The Congress members of both the Legislative Assembly and the Council will participate in the meeting, that will be chaired by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.

The TCLP is also likely to discuss the issue of the Polavaram Project and pass a resolution against the ordinance issued by the Centre facilitating the merger of 7 mandals of the Khammam district into the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

The TCLP is likely to defend the stand taken by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue. (INN)
