Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M Kodandaram has accused the BJP-led Union government of creating a rift between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the Polavaram Project issue.
Speaking to media persons, Kondandaram said that the decision on the Polavaram Project was unscientific and aimed at rendering injustice to Telangana.
He said that the TPJAC would strongly oppose the Polavaram Project in its present form. He said that the project would only benefit the contractors while the farmers would not gain anything out of it.
Strongly opposing the merger of 7 mandals of Khammam with AP, he said that the TPJAC would not allow the Centre to give away even an inch of Telangana land to other States.
Kondandaram said that the Saturday's bandh was successful, and thanked the people for their cooperation. (INN)
