Congress Leaders Console Family Of Lynch Victim In Old City
Congress leaders today visited the family members of Mohammed Azam of Barkas who was lynched in Karnataka earlier this week, and handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakhs.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with other senior party leaders, today visited the family members of Mohammed Azam of Barkas, who was lynched in Bidar district in Karnataka earlier this week.
Accompanied by Leader Of Opposition in the Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former minister Sabitha Indira Reddy, AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, former MP Balram Naik and others, Reddy met Azam's father Mohammed Osman and conveyed his deep condolences on behalf of the Congress.
He also handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakhs to the family on behalf of the party.
Reddy also told the family the bereaved family that Congress president Rahul Gandhi had written a letter to him condemning the incident. He promised all possible support to the family from the party, and assured them that the Karnataka government would be asked to punish all the culprits in a stringent manner.
Reddy also demanded that the state government devise a mechanism to regulate the social media and control the spread of rumours to prevent such incidents in the future. He also said that awareness should be created among the people about such rumours and how they were leading to the brutal killing of innocent people.
