The Congress government had cheated both the employees and the unemployed of the State, BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao alleged today.
He also said that not a single one of its election promises had been implemented by the Congress after winning the Assembly elections, and that the party needed to be defeated by the people for blatantly disregarding its promises.
Rao was speaking at a public meeting in Sattupalli constituency of Khammam district as part of the ongoing MLC election campaign.
Referring to one of the biggest election promises of the Congress, he pointed out that there had not been a single job notification for six months after the Congress came to power. "There is no job calendar. Is this the way two lakh jobs will be filled?" he asked.
He also asked the State government what happened to the promises of a Rs 4,000 allowance for the unemployed, a Rs 5 lakh Bharosa card for students and free Scooties for girls.
"The Congress party, in its election manifesto, had said that it would provide an unemployment allowance. Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Priyanka Gandhi said it themselves. But the party is now lying in the Assembly that no such assurance was given," he alleged.
Rao also said that there were four DA hikes pending for the State government employees. He alleged that CM Revanth Reddy, who had said that a decision on DA would be taken in the cabinet, did not stand by his word.
"Teachers were also lathi-charged when they protested on that. Can there be more inhumanity than this?" he asked directly.
He also alleged that the BJP was conspiring to make Hyderabad the joint capital for another 10 years.
