KTR termed the results a strong indication that the people had rejected the ruling Congress and CM Revanth Reddy's leadership.

BRS working president K T Rama Rao today congratulated his party's candidates who won as sarpanches and ward members in the first phase of Telangana's gram panchayat elections.
The BRS leader termed the results a strong indication that the people had rejected the ruling Congress and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's leadership.
He claimed that the Congress had secured less than 44% of the seats due to public anger even in areas where Revanth Reddy had campaigned openly.
KTR alleged that the State government had failed to fulfil its promises on pensions, the Mahalakshmi scheme, one-tola gold, urea supply for farmers, and crop bonuses and procurement, and also that the sanitation and rural roads developed during the party's 10-year rule had deteriorated, resulting in the rural voters becoming disillusioned with Revanth Reddy's "failures" after two years in power.
He said that the people remembered the lies surrounding the Congress' "six guarantees", and described the panchayat election results as just the beginning of the party's decline. He predicted a complete collapse of the Congress in the near future.
He alleged incidents of violence and murders involving Congress workers during the elections, and praised the BRS cadre for their brave fight and victories despite such dangers and threats. He said that the BRS remained the only credible alternative in Telangana and not the BJP, and that the party would prevail across Telangana, from Adilabad to Alampur, in the upcoming elections.
