Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress would win almost all the seats in Telangana in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing party leaders from the Chevella, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Medak Lok Sabha constituencies in separate meetings on the third and last day of the party's brainstorming session on Sunday, Reddy said that the cadre was fully geared up to face the Lok Sabha elections.
"During the last three days, we had a serious introspection on the factors that led to party's defeat in the last Assembly elections. Congress leaders from all the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana came up with many constructive, valuable and practical suggestions, and they will be incorporated in the party's final strategy for elections. The brainstorming sessions have shown that the entire Congress cadre is fully charged and rejuvenated to face and win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections," he said.
Reddy added that the narrative for the Lok Sabha elections would be different from what it was in the Assembly elections.
"Voting for Parliament is not about KCR or the TRS. This will be a vote to elect the next Prime Minister of India, and the people will certainly prefer Congress president Rahul Gandhi to BJP's Narendra Modi. India needs a visionary leader like Rahul Gandhi and not a person like Modi who cheated the nation with his lies and deception. The BJP government did nothing in the last five years except make tall promises and false claims. Therefore Rahul Gandhi is the obvious choice of people as the next Prime Minister," he said.
Reddy directed the party cadre of the Hyderabad and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies to strengthen the organisation and network. He said that Secunderabad had been a traditional Congress seat, and except for Nampally, the Congress was strong in all Assembly constituencies falling in the Secunderabad LS constituency. But this gap too had been bridged in the last Assembly elections, and now the Congress was strong in Nampally too. He said that Secunderabad would therefore be in the list of seats certain to be won by the Congress.
AICC Telangana in-charge leader R C Kuntia directed the leaders to focus on strengthening the organisation at all levels. He said that appointments up to the booth level should be completed at the earliest.
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikarmarka and other senior leaders also addressed the brainstorming session which concluded today.
