Congress Releases Manifesto For GHMC Elections

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has alleged that the TRS was scripting a conspiracy in the campaign for the upcoming GHMC elections to deceive the people of Hyderabad once again with assurances impossible to fulfil.

After releasing the Party's GHMC election manifesto at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress had strived for the development of Hyderabad in all aspects by constructing an Outer Ring Road and flyovers to solve the traffic problem, bringing in Krishna and Godavari waters to the city, establishing an international airport, developing the IT and bio-tech sectors, constructing nalas and widening the city.

It had also brought the Metro Rail project, the ITIR project, new buses etc during its rule, he claimed.

The TRS' assurances made for the GHMC elections were not possible to fulfil, he said, just like its promises in 2014. For example, he said, the TRS government had assured Hyderabadis of free Wi-Fi but had not yet implemented it.

Alleging that the TRS did nothing for Hyderabad in its 18-month rule, Reddy said that the ruling Party was trying to win the elections with mere words.

On the occasion, Reddy released a pamphlet on the development done by the Congress in its 10-year rule, and a songs CD.

Opposition leader in the Telangana Legislative Council Shabbir Ali, Manifesto Committee Chairman Nagaiah, MLC Akula Lalitha, former Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy, Rangareddy DCC president K Mallesh, NRI Cell Chairman Vinod Kumar, Marri Adithya Reddy and others participated in the program.
