Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar Goud on Monday alleged that the Congress had started 'money politics' in the state.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, Goud said the Congress was luring away MLAs from other parties by taking a cue from B S Yeddyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka state.
As part of 'money politics' deal, the Praja Rajyam Party MLAs were bought by the Congress, and the party agreed to the merger, the TDP leader alleged.
He added, "Now the Congress high command is making efforts to lure Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Chandrasekhar Rao and former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy into its fold and strengthen the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government."
He hoped that KCR, who he said was known for his opportunist politics, would fall into the trap of Congress and merge his party as part of his deal for a separate Telangana state.
Goud maintained that the TDP would play its role as a responsible opposition party and a viable alternative to the Congress in the state. He said that the TDP would not fall prey to the lures and tricks of the Congress, nor it would compromise on its principles.
