Collectors To Identify Beneficiaries Of Dalit Bandhu: Minister
With the government facing allegations over the selection of the beneficiaries of the scheme, the task of identifying them has been given to the district Collectors.
With the State government facing allegations from the opposition parties over the selection of the beneficiaries of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, the task of identifying the beneficiaries has been handed over to the district Collectors.
Minister for Social Welfare Koppula Eshwar held a video conference with the various district Collectors from his camp office in Karimnagar on Friday and discussed the second phase of the scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the task of selecting the beneficiaries had been handed over to the district Collectors with an aim to implement the scheme in a transparent manner.
"As there are some misconceptions about the process of selecting the beneficiaries on the suggestion of the MLAs during the first phase, the responsibility has now been given to the district Collectors," Eshwar said.
He refuted the allegations of irregularities in the selection of the beneficiaries, and said that there was no truth in such allegations.
He also added that the State government would extend the Dalit Bandhu scheme to every dalit family in Telangana in a phased manner.
