Rs 60,000 Crore Spent On SCs In Eight Years: Minister
Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar said that the Telangana government had spent Rs. 60,000 crore for the development of the SCs in the last eight years.

Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar today said that following the job notification for recruitment of 91,000 vacant posts, the state government was providing free coaching facility to the unemployed youth belonging to the Scheduled Castes through 11 study circles and 33 study centres, and appealed to the youth to avail themselves of the facility.
Eshwar was speaking after garlanding the statue of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his birth anniversary, at the Nizam College.
The minister eulogised the services of Jagjivan Ram, saying that he was a great freedom fighter and the best social reformer the country had produced.
He added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, drawing inspiration from the ideals of Jagjivan Ram, was striving for the welfare of the weaker sections, and that the state government had spent over Rs. 60,000 crore for the development of the SCs during the last eight years.
As part of that, high quality education was being provided to the communities' children through 268 Gurukul schools, he added.
MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Secretary of the Department of SC & ST Development Rahul Bojja, Commissioner of the department Yogita Rana, the chairmen of various corporations including Errolla Srinivas, Balamallu and Nagesh, and officials were present.
