CMO News Leak About Lockdown Causing Serious Harm: BJP

The Telangana BJP demanded that CM KCR instruct the CMO not to indulge in manufactured news leaks, which were creating a massive confusion among the public.
Hyderabad | 3rd July 2020
The Telangana BJP today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instruct the CMO not to indulge in manufactured news leaks, which were creating a massive confusion among the general public in the state.

BJP chief spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said that the news leak planted in the media by CMO about a possible lockdown in Hyderabad starting this week had unsettled lakhs of people in the GHMC area.

The BJP was worried that daily wage earners, labourers, auto drivers and occupational migrants from Telangana districts and from the neighbouring states were returning to their homes in panic for the past two days.

"The BJP feels that this reverse exodus to the rural areas triggered by the confusing statements from the CMO is quite dangerous. It can shift Covid-19 transmission to rural Telangana which is currently almost free of infection. This panic reverse migration will also lead to a massive job and income loss for the daily wagers and migrant labour," Rao said.

"The BJP strongly condemns this irresponsible messaging by the TRS government, which is literally playing with the lives and the livelihoods of lakhs of poor people of the state," he added.
