Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today conducted a high-level meeting on the coronavirus spread, the lockdown, the treatment of patients, the facilities and services in the hospitals, and the feedback from the people to the management of the pandemic.
He held the meeting at Pragathi Bhavan with finance minister Harish Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy and the three CPs of Hyderabad, and other top officials.
The CM took stock of the impact of the lockdown on the spread of Covid-19 in the state, the pandemic statistics, and the response from the people to the lockdown.
He also focused on the shortage of vaccines and oxygen.
The Chief Minister sought feedback on the response of the citizens to the lockdown. Since small traders and vendors have been seeking relaxation of the lockdown till the afternoon, KCR took the views of the top officials, and is said to be open to increasing the exemption timings by two more hours.
However, the government is also considering extending the lockdown by one more week given the good results it has been bringing, sources said.
The CM also reportedly took serious note of the lathi charge on the power staff and of media persons at three places in the city and Nalgonda district, and of the stopping of vehicles from other states. He reportedly directed the officials not to repeat such actions, and to allow those permitted to move through valid passes.
