BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy today alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was acting in a tyrannical manner, his actions including tapping the phones of political leaders across party lines.
He claimed that the phones of BRS leaders, including former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and former ministers K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, were being illegally monitored.
Addressing media persons at Telangana Bhavan, the MLA alleged that not only BRS leaders but also Congress and BJP leaders were under surveillance.
He claimed that Revanth Reddy was getting the phones of even film industry personalities, including heroines, hacked through private hackers.
He added that a formal complaint had been filed with the police regarding the hacking of his own phone, but no FIR had been registered so far. He also claimed that his wife's phone had been hacked, too.
He demanded that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) therefore conduct an inquiry into the alleged phone-tapping by the CM.
The BRS MLA also alleged that although a cabinet meeting was scheduled to be held at the Secretariat today, all the ministers went to Delhi instead, to inform the party high command about the alleged phone-tapping. He claimed that a major "panchayat" would take place in Delhi over the issue, and that the ministers had told the Chief Minister that they would not attend the cabinet meeting until the matter was resolved.
He added that senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were upset with Revanth Reddy over the phone-tapping controversy.
