State Minister and Seemandhra Legislators Forum Convener S Sailajanath on Tuesday claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has no plans to start a separate party.
Talking to reporters here, Sailajanath said that the Chief Minister was only making efforts to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
"Therefore, his statements and opposition to the bifurcation of the state should not be viewed as a revolt against the Congress party and its leadership," he said.
Being the Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy is in the forefront to lead the movement against State's division.
Sailajanath dismissed reports that Kiran Kumar Reddy was considering floating a new party, either by resigning from the Congress and that the High Command was going to take action against him, thus leading to his removal from the post.
He said that there is no truth in such reports, and that they were mere speculation by a section of the media.
He announced that the Seemandhra leaders of the Congress party would continue their fight for a united state till the end. (INN)
