At a time that the country is getting polarised on religious lines, a temple priest is in the news for helping a Muslim family in distress.
Continuing its tradition of helping farmers in distress, the Chilkur Balaji temple has gifted a bull to a farmer belonging to Chilkur village named Mohammad Ghouse, who had lost his farming bull to electrocution.
"Humanity does not see religion, caste or creed, and to help fellow human beings is the service to Almighty," Chilkur Balaji temple priest C S Rangarajan said.
In the last couple of years, moved by the plights of farmers whose cattle died in such accidents, Rangarajan, with the help of Goseva enthusiast Pavan Kumar, has helped several farmers across the State. Bulls were gifted to Anjaiah, a farmer hailing from Pedda Mangalaram village, Moinabad, Ranga Reddy district, after he lost two buffalos to electrocution a few years back. Earlier, too, the temple had given a cow to a farmer from Siddipet, who lost his cattle to electrocution. A few farmers from the neighbouring villages too have received bulls.
Rangarajan urged the public to join the temple to help more such farmers who were in distress. "Farmers consider a cow, bull or buffalo as a family member, and the death of cattle pushes them into financial problems. I urge people to participate in our Gift Cattle campaign to support farmers," he said.
