Naidu Vows To Enter Assembly Only After Becoming CM

The president of the TDP Chandrababu Naidu today vowed to not enter the Andhra Pradesh Assembly until he became the Chief Minister of the state again.

He also turned emotional in the House and later broke down during his press meet after leaving the House.

During his speech in the House, Naidu said that the YSR Congress Party leaders had made baseless allegations against his wife Bhuvaneswari in the Assembly.

He also took strong exception to the decision of the Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetharam for cutting off his mike.

He said that he was an 8th term MLA and had worked with great political veterans since 1978, but had been facing many insults during the last two and half years, with the YSRCP leaders continuously trying to damage his reputation.

He said that he had never seen such Assembly sessions in his entire political career, and that he could not remain in the House and would return to it only after becoming the CM of the state.

The MLAs of the party also left the House along with their leader.

Speaking to media persons at the state party headquarters later, Naidu broke down unable to control his emotions.

He said that Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had heckled him during Thursday's BAC meeting and that the ruling party leaders had insulted his wife, and that he had never seen such mind-numbing developments in his entire life.

He said that his wife had never even entered politics, and termed the Assembly as a Kaurava Sabha. He added that he had never insulted anybody personally when he was in power.

Naidu claimed that former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy too had insulted his (Naidu's) mother in the house, but that YSR had realized his mistake later and tendered an apology to him.

Taking strong exception to the behaviour of the Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetharam, he pointed out that Seetharam had worked as a minister during the TDP rule, and asked the Speaker to rethink his behaviour.

He once again vowed that he would enter the Assembly only after taking on the ruling YSRCP in the political field of the state, and urged the people of the state to extend their support to his fight against the state government.
