Naidu had earlier supported the demand for Telangana, assuming that the Centre would go against it, and he is now stuck, says a former minister.

Former minister T Jeevan Reddy, on Wednesday, remarked that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had earlier trapped himself by supporting the formation of Telangana, and that he was now trying to take a U-turn.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Jeevan Reddy said that Naidu had supported the demand for Telangana statehood, assuming that the Centre would go against it. However, with the Centre accepting the demand, Naidu is trapped in a bad situation, and is now trying hard to take a U-turn, he said.
Jeevan Reddy also ridiculed TDP leaders' claims about Hyderabad's development. Asking them to cite examples of their contribution to Hyderabad, he said that Naidu's regime was full of corruption, adding his claim that several public sector companies in the Telangana region were handed over to the private parties of the Andhra region in the name of privatisation.
He also said Seemandhra leaders ought not provoke the people of their region on the statehood issue. He said that the Central Water Commission would resolve any dispute related to river water sharing, and that leaders could approach the Antony Committee for redressal of their grievances. (INN)
