On the final day of his Singapore visit, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster Chandrababu Naidu met the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsein Loong and congratulated him on his re-election.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister thanked the Singapore PM for extending enormous help by creating the master plan for Amaravathi, the new Andhra Pradesh capital, and submitting it as scheduled.
He also told Mr Loong that Singapore could extend help to AP in building the State's infrastructure and support AP as it tries to become a knowledge economy.
Loong said that Singapore would support Andhra Pradesh and would share whatever expertise and experience it had.
When the Chief Minister informed Loong that the World Bank had ranked Andhra Pradesh second in India in Ease of Doing Business, Loong said that the ranking reflected how the State had made a difference within a short span.
Loong also lauded the Chief Minister's efforts in pooling land for the capital. Following this, the Chief Minister explained to him the main features of Amaravathi and how it would be constructed as a sustainable and smart city for future generations.
Naidu then extended a formal invitation to the Singapore Prime Minister for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Amaravathi on October 22. Loong replied in the affirmative and said he would definitely try his best to make it to the ceremony.
