Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana today alleged that the opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu had wasted a huge amount of public money in the name of the construction of a greenfield capital for the state at Amaravathi.
And after Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy took a decision to establishment three capitals in order to fulfill the wishes of the people of Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, Naidu wrote a letter to the Governor opposing the move only to protect the interests of his community and its people, Botsa alleged.
He alleged that Naidu was lying that the experts committee had recommended Amaravathi as the state capital, and said that the report submitted by the Sivaramakrishnan committee had in fact recommended the establishment of three capitals in three different places of the state.
He said that only the Narayana committee had recommended the establishment of the state capital at Amaravathi, and that was on the basis of the recommendation of Naidu himself.
He alleged that Naidu was going to waste thousands of crores of public money in the name of the state capital. He claimed that Naidu had already spent Rs 325 crore on just the preparation of the state capital plans, and Rs 1,300 crore on land pooling.
