Hyderabad | 3rd March 2011
Stating that 'there is a solution to every problem', Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs and Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily on Thursday stated that the Centre will find a solution to the Telangana imbroglio at an appropriate time.

Talking to media persons here, Moily said that the Centre is fully conversant with the separate Telangana statehood demand and has already focused its attention on finding a solution to the issue.

The Union Minister also stated that another step towards finding the solution was the meeting between Congress MPs from Seemandhra regions and the Congress Core Committee members scheduled later for Thursday night. This meeting will take place at the Prime Minister's residence.

Earlier, the Seemandhra MPs on Thursday wrote a letter to Congress Core Committee member Pranab Mukherjee demanding him to implement the 6th option given in the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee Report.

The 6th option given in the Srikrishna Committee Report suggests that the Centre can keep the state united, and facilitate the creation of a statutorily empowered Telangana Regional Council for the socio-economic and political development of Telangana region.

Around 20 MPs from Seemandhra regions had signed the letter and handed it over to Pranab Mukherjee.

Meanwhile, Congress Spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi stated the Telangana issue was a sensitive one and requires more time for a solution to be found. He said that the issue could not be solved overnight and has to be solved in a phased manner.
