Governor E S L Narasimhan Takes Major Decisions
The Governor decided on various proposals related to Andhra Pradesh and its bifurcation, at the meeting of the Governor-in-Council.

Governor E S L Narasimhan on Saturday took several major decisions during the meeting of the Governor-in-Council held at Raj Bhavan and attended by Chief Secretary P K Mohanty; the Governor's Advisors Salauddin Ahmed and A N Roy; senior officials Ajay Kallam, P V Ramesh, Pradeep Chandra, Siva Shankar, Lakshmi Parthasarathy, Anantaramulu and B R Meena; and others.
The Governor agreed to ratify the action issuing orders for the renewal of the lease, in principle, in favour of the Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre, Hyderabad, for a further period of 30 years, with effect from 08.03.2007, pending finalization of lease rentals. However, the Governor said that the new government would take a decision regarding continuation of the concessional lease rent.
Narasimhan also accepted the proposal for the allotment of land to Pullela Gopichand for establishment of a Badminton Academy. But the proposal related to the deletion of the condition of nominating senior officers like Special Chief Secretary to the Government, and Principal Secretary, YAT & C (YS&S) Department, as members of the governing body of the Badminton Academy would be referred to the new government, with favourable recommendations.
Other proposals like alienation of government land to a total extent of Ac. 4.79 cts. in the Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district in favour of the South Central Railway, Tirupati, for the formation of a new broad-gauge line, and advance possession and alienation of government land to an extent of 502.30 acres in the Chittoor district in favour of the APIIC, were recommended to the new government to take suitable decisions.
The Governor has agreed to send a proposal to the Government of India for continuation of the jurisdiction of certain Commissions, Authorities and Tribunals that were constituted under the Central Act / State Act in the States of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting also accepted the proposal for additional staff, accommodation and vehicles required by the Raj Bhavan due to the State's reorganization. (INN)
