BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, on Tuesday, accused the Congress party of insulting the Telugu people over the issue of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference, Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress government was making no efforts to find a location for Seemandhra's new capital.
Venkaiah Naidu said that Union Minister Jairam Ramesh had expressed enthusiasm over the 435 institutions in Hyderabad, but had not specified how he would replicate the same in Seemandhra.
"Jairam Ramesh's asking "Who is Kiran?" speaks of his arrogance. When your own General Secretary had given the man in question a certificate, and had praised him as the most loyal person, it seems really pretentious when Jairam Ramesh asks who he (Kiran Kumar Reddy) is.
"Who is to guarantee that Ramesh won't soon be asking "Who is Sonia Gandhi?" or "Who is Manmohan Singh?" next," asked Naidu.
Venkaiah Naidu also enquired why there were no Telugu people in the Group of Ministers.
Venkaiah Naidu said that being a national party, the BJP wants justice for all the regions, be it Telangana or Seemandhra.
"We have stood by the people of Telangana by fulfilling our commitment in spite of the ugly games played by the Congress. We were firm that Hyderabad should be a part of Telangana as it is in Telangana. We have kept our credibility," he said. (INN)
