Centre Allays Fear Of Loss Due To Demonetisation

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya assured the Governor that the demonetisation of 500 and 1000 bills would not bring any loss to the State.

In a significant development, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today called on Governor E S L Narasimhan and assured him that the demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes would not bring any loss to the State government.

This comes at a time when Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reportedly expressed displeasure at the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapping the notes.

KCR is learnt to have expressed his dismay at the Centre's decision because it led to the "collapse" of Realty in the State, causing a loss of around Rs. 2,000 crores.
