Centre To Open Bank Accounts For State Labourers
The Centre said that the process of opening of bank accounts for workers in the organized and unorganized sectors had been set in motion.

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said that the process of opening of bank accounts for workers in the organized and unorganized sectors had been set in motion and all of them would get their wages directly in their accounts soon on their next payday.
The Union Minister disclosed this at the State-level Bankers Committee meeting held at the SBI, Gunfoundry on December 3. Speaking on the occasion, the Central Minister said that a large number of workers coming from across the nation were working in Hyderabad. In Telangana, some 1 crore workers in the unorganized sector and 7.9 lakhs in the organized. Out of one crore unorganized workers, 4.53 lakhs were working in cigar factories, 9.36 lakhs in the construction industry and 48 lakhs in Farming, Dattatreya said.
He also said that all banks in Telangana were organizing go-to camps for opening up bank accounts for workers. 12,024 camps had been conducted till date and 56,286 applications received, 36,474 accounts had been issued to eligible labourers.
The Central Minister promised that though the people of Telangana and other States were suffering due to the impact of demonetization, it would yield positive results in long-term.
