The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has been investigating the murder of former Kadapa MLA Y S Vivekananda Reddy, has gathered crucial evidence in the sensational case.
It has reportedly unearthed evidence revealing that a sum of Rs 8 crore had been given as payment for the murder the leader, and that two prominent public figures of Andhra Pradesh were the ones who had handed over the money to the killer/s.
A team of CBI personnel has been posted at Reddy's Kadapa residence for the last 45 days to carry out further investigations into the March 2019 murder. The officials were the ones who unearthed the information about the payment after interrogating the domestic help employed at the residence.
Reports suggest that Rangaiah, the help, had testified in the presence of a magistrate at the Jammalamadugu court and had stated that two people had handed over Rs 8 crore to the killers as payment. He had also revealed that a total of seven people, including the two who had made the payment, were involved in the killing.
Meanwhile, the CBI officials posted at the former leader's house have reinspected the bathroom where he was found murdered as well as the bedroom to which he was shifted afterwards.
So, far the body has interrogated more than 1,600 persons.
