CBI Arrests Two AP Government Officers, MD Of Private Company
N Ramesh and Sreebhashyam Venkata Ranganathan were collecting huge bribes for issuing new Import Export Certificates as well as for renewals, and other related licenses.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (JDGFT), Visakhapatnam; a Section Head in the office of the DGFT; and the Managing Director of a private company based in Hyderabad, in a bribery case, and registered a case against all of them.
It was alleged that the two public servants, N Ramesh and Sreebhashyam Venkata Ranganathan, working in the Regional Authority, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), were demanding and collecting huge amounts of bribes for issuing new Import Export Certificates as well as for renewals, and for other related licenses, through consultants/conduits.
The CBI laid a trap and arrested Ramesh for demanding and collecting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh, and Ranganathan for demanding and collecting a bribe of Rs 50,000, from P Sita Rama Raju, the Managing Director of Kireeti Indenting and Exim Services, a private company based in Hyderabad.
Searches were conducted on the premises of the accused, including at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bangalore, which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
All those arrested were produced today before the Court of the Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Visakhapatnam, and were remanded to judicial custody till September 18.
