Cattle Restrictions On Bakrid Qurbani
As per the provisions of the Prohibition Of Cow Slaughter And Animal Prevention Act, 1977, cattle need to be certified by a veterinary doctor for sacrifice.
The city police will enforce certain restrictions on the transportation of animals from neighbouring districts and other rural areas to Hyderabad for the Bakrid festival.
City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Sunday said that there have been reports that a lot of cattle were being transported to Hyderabad from other places for this year's Bakrid festival, which will be observed on October 27.
He clarified that as per the provisions of Andhra Pradesh's Prohibition Of Cow Slaughter And Animal Prevention Act, 1977, cattle need to be examined by a veterinary doctor. It is only on the certification of the doctor can cattle can be used for Qurbani.
Anurag Sharma said that the matter was taken up with the district administration and the GHMC. He said that in the joint discussions, it was decided to facilitate the process by forming special teams with the help of veterinary doctors from the Animal Husbandry Department, and officials from the GHMC and the police department.
The teams will examine all the cattle being brought, and a certificate will be provided by the veterinary doctors regarding fitness.
A joint control room will also start functioning round the clock with immediate effect, to facilitate certification.
The Commissioner have also instructed police officials to be vigilant in this regard. He appealed to people to observe restraint and to not take the law into their hands.
In case of any complaints, the local SHO/ACP may be contacted so that necessary action can be taken as per the provisions of the Act, he said. (INN)

ONE BULL IS ENOUGH FOR MINIMUM OF 20 COWS. Hence bulls can be slaughtered..... if this is the case, then here they themselves state that one father for 20 mothers...... shame shame................

if cows and calfs were not slaughtered, then in every street there will be a cow/calf. and to serve the cow/calf with grass/food, there is no food for them. as we all know that in ever street there is a concrete cememnt road so that there is no provision of grass or any kind of tree. Think about it......... We muslims are even helping you in saving animals as well as humans from different sdiseases which may be caused due to the death of n number of cows/animals on road......... JUST THINK THINK AND THINK...........
