One Asif Iqbal of Yakutpura, who claims to be an MBT worker and posted a video in Whatsapp through the IB 24x7 channel provoking different communities, was booked today by the Hyderabad police.
According to V Satyanarayana, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, the words of Asif Iqbal in the video were highly objectionable and were capable of causing a breach of peace in Hyderabad. He was promoting enmity between two communities, and a case was registered under the relevant sections of the law against him and against the channel which was circulating the video. The DCP said that stringent action would be initiated against Iqbal as per the law.
A case had been registered in the Rein Bazar police station earlier on the complaint of Asif Iqbal against MLA Raja Singh, and as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the police had issued notices to and obtained a reply from Raja Singh.
The DCP appealed to the citizens not to encourage such kinds of propaganda, and that the law would take its own course if anybody violated it or indulged in such unsocial activities. Stern legal action would be initiated persons who committed such crimes irrespective of their designation/status, he said.
