Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod today said that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would actively campaign for and extend full support to the Janata Dal (Secular), led by H D Kumaraswamy, in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections.
She said that in addition to that, the entire BRS top leadership including ministers would tour Karnataka extensively in the days to come and would seek votes for the JD (S).
Speaking at a meeting organised by JD (S) Gulbarga district president Balaraj Shiva Guthedhar in Kalaburigi, Karnataka, on Sunday, the minister said, "Our aim is to bring JD (S) to power in Karnataka and to make H D Kumarswamy the Chief Minister of the State."
She alleged that the BJP's "double-engine government" had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the Karnataka people, and that the people were waiting to teach a fitting lesson to the saffron party in the upcoming Assembly elections.
"While the Telangana government offers Rs 2,016 as monthly pension to elderly people and single women, the BJP government in Karnataka is giving just Rs 600 per month," Rathod pointed out as an example.
Later, she visited a few Anganwadi centres in the Kalaburigi area and inspected their styles of working.
