BRS MLA Ajmeera Rekha Nayak, who represents the Khanapur Assembly constituency in Nirmal district, announced today that she would be joining the Congress soon.
Nayak, who was omitted from the BRS ticket list announced by the party president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao last week, said that she had been facing continuous humiliation in the ruling party despite working committedly for the its growth.
The BRS MLA said that she had been in politics for over 12 years but the Chief Minister had kept her aside citing petty reasons.
"I will remain in the ruling party till the end of my tenure as an MLA, but I will contest the upcoming elections on a Congress ticket. I will disclose all the facts at the appropriate time," she said.
Nayak's husband Shyam Nayak had already joined the Congress, and interestingly, filed his application for the Congress candidacy from the Asifabad Assembly constituency.
