BRS Government Neglected Education Sector: Ponguleti

Reddy and two other ministers laid the foundation stones for various projects on the premises of Kakatiya University in Warangal today.
Hyderabad | 10th March 2024
Telangana Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy today slammed the previous BRS government for "neglecting" the education sector during its ten-year rule.

Reddy and two other ministers Seethakka and Konda Surekha laid the foundation stones for various projects on the premises of Kakatiya University in Warangal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that they were the first ministers to enter the university after the formation of Telangana State, and that the BRS government had not constructed even a compound wall for the Kakatiya University in its ten years. The then CM K Chandrashekar Rao simply did not bother about education, he claimed.

He said that the Congress government was however giving priority to the education and health sectors, and had earmarked adequate funds for them in the budget.

He also promised that the issue of the contract teachers of the university would be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, and that their problems would be resolved as early as possible.
