A new alliance has been formed in Telangana ahead of the Lok Sabha elections - between the BRS and the BSP.
The BSP announced today that it would contest the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the BRS.
BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao too made a similar announcement, saying that he was entering an honourable alliance with the BSP.
Speaking with the media after a meeting with BSP State president R S Praveen Kumar, KCR said that Kumar had spoken to the BSP high command and obtained permission for the alliance.
"The BRS and the BSP have decided to work together. They will contest in some seats and we will contest in some seats," KCR said, adding that the two parties would announce the seat-sharing, the modalities of the alliance and other decisions on Wednesday.
When asked whether Praveen Kumar would contest for the Nagarkurnool seat, KCR said that Kumar would contest from even Warangal and just any other general seat as he was the State president of the BSP.
