In a major breakthrough, the city police, on Sunday, arrested an alleged house burglar, and recovered stolen property worth Rs. 25 lakh from his possession.
The recovered property includes gold ornaments weighing about 63 and a half tulas, silver articles weighing about 1.25 kgs, and electronic goods, all worth Rs. 25 lakhs, pertaining to 29 cases.
The police also recovered one Bajaj Pulsar, a 250cc motorcycle, and 1 Scooty.
According to police, there was a series of day house burglaries in the limits of Bowenpally Police Station and police stations bordering Secunderabad and Cyberabad, from October 2010 onwards.
On Saturday, the police nabbed the accused, Englay Rajender, a resident of Kothapet.
During interrogation, he confessed to have committed 29 house burglaries along with his associate Sriram Narasimha Chary, who was arrested by the police on 29 November last year.
The arrest was made by a team led by Bowenpally Additional Inspector K Sathaiah. (INN)
