The Abids Road Police Station has sought the help of the general public in identifying an unknown person who tried to steal cash from an ATM of South Indian Bank, located at Oasis Plaza Complex at Tilak Road, Abids, in the early hours of Monday.
Based on a complaint lodged by the bank's chief manager, N B Jeevan Das, the Abids police registered a case. During the course of their investigation, CCTV footage was collected. The footage revealed that an unidentified person entered into the ATM, damaged the closed-circuit camera, and later made an attempt to open the cash box. The photograph of the culprit and a video clipping of the CC footage has been released.
People have been requested to give information about the accused. The police have said that the informant will be rewarded "suitably" while his/her identity will be kept confidential.
