Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana, on Tuesday, condemned
Monday's desecration of Ambedkar's statues in Amalapuram.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa said that the state government would take stern action against the culprits. He appealed to the people in the State, especially those living in and around Amalapuram, to maintain peace and harmony.
The PCC chief said that the Congress would also seek an explanation from Amalapuram MP Harsha Kumar for making some comments against Ghulam Nabi, the In-Charge Of State Congress Affairs.
Botsa also criticised TDP's deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu for his remarks against the Congress Coordination Committee.
He said that opposition parties may criticise the government, but that it was unfair on the part of the TDP leader to comment on a political party's committee using unparliamentary language.
He advised Gali to restrain himself from making derogatory comments against the ruling party and its leaders.
The PCC president also condemned film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who criticised Chiranjeevi's PRP merger with the Congress party.
He said that before making any comments against Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna must look into his own past. He wondered how Balakrishna could work under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu, who, he said, backstabbed the party's founder and Balakrishna's father N T Rama Rao.
He also added that unlike TDP, the Congress is not a "family party".
Botsa said that he would tour Miryalguda on Wednesday, where he would attend several programs. (INN)
