In a major setback to Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana in his native Vizianagaram district, the ruling Congress MLA from Bobbili constituency, Venkata Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, on Wednesday, switched loyalties towards the YSR Congress party.
Talking to media persons at S Kota, Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao officially announced that he was submitting his resignation from the Congress' primary membership, as well as from the Bobbili Assembly constituency.
He said that he was taking this "harsh decision" as the Congress has been "targeting" former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his family members.
Rao also announced that he was joining the YSR Congress as per the wishes of the local and constituency leaders.
Besides Ranga Rao, his brother and municipality former chairman Baby Nayana also joined the YSR Congress, and expressed solidarity with Jagan. (INN)
