The activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, today tried to lay siege to the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) office situated in Hyderabad's Nampally area.
Scores of BJYM activists reached the office to hold a protest program. However, the police present at the TSPSC office premises arrested all the activists and foiled their plans to hold a demonstration.
The protestors had planned to agitate to put forth their demand that the TRS regime fill all the vacant posts in the state's various government departments and introduce an unemployed allowance for the unemployed youth of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, state BJYM president Bhanu Prakash alleged that the state government was behaving in a "negligent manner" in dealing with the issue of rising unemployment in Telangana.
Reiterating the body's demand, he thundered, "The KCR government should immediately fill the 2 lakh vacant posts in the state. It must also immediately introduce an unemployment dole for the benefit of the unemployed youth of the state. The government has constituted a committee for filling government job posts. Why then has there been such a huge delay in the issuance of the job notifications?"
Prakash then warned the state government that the BJP youth wing would intensify its agitation demanding the filling of the vacant posts and that it would hold similar agitations in front of all the district Collectorates in the state.
