BJP's Ramachandra Rao Wins Telangana MLC Polls
Rao defeated Devi Prasad Rao of the TRS in the election for the Mahabubnagar - Ranga Reddy - Hyderabad graduates' constituency of the Telangana Council.

BJP candidate N Ramachandra Rao registered a thumping victory over his nearest rival G Devi Prasad Rao of the TRS in the election for the Mahabubnagar - Ranga Reddy - Hyderabad graduates' constituency of the Telangana Legislative Council.
Ramachandra Rao won the MLC polls by a majority of 13,318 votes. While Ramachandra Rao secured 53,881 votes, Devi Prasad got 40,563 votes.
The Congress candidate Agiru Ravikumar Gupta got a meagre 2,856 votes although he stood third among the 31 candidates who were in the fray.
Ramachandra Rao maintained the lead of over 3,000 votes in all the four rounds of counting held at Victory Play Grounds near Chaderghat. It was a definite victory for the BJP candidate as he secured 52.42% of the 102,785 valid votes while the TRS candidate got 39.46% of the votes.
While 521 voters opted for NOTA (None Of The Above), 8,433 votes were declared invalid. (INN)
