Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president G Kishan Reddy on Sunday announced that his party would not extend support to the Telangana Bill if the Centre modifies the Congress Working Committee's resolution of forming a Telangana with 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital.
Speaking to media persons here, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP is in favour of a perfect Telangana with no strings attached.
He said that the Telangana state should comprise 10 districts, with Hyderabad as its capital, although the capital could be shared by both the states for a limited period. He said that the BJP would not support any modifications in the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.
The BJP leader also alleged that the Rayala-Telangana proposal was moved by the Congress party through the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen only to delay the process of formation of Telangana.
Kishan Reddy also welcomed the joining of about 3,000 youth into the party on Sunday. He said that the people across the country strongly believe that only Narendra Modi could bring overall development, and that they were, therefore, joining the party with the confidence of bringing about a change. He alleged that the regimes of UPA I & II were full of corruption and failures. (INN)
