BJP Hijacks Central Schemes Launch Event In TS

The launch event of three Central schemes on Saturday was practically turned into a function of the Bharatiya Janata Party with the ruling party workers and leaders being the sole participants.

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani launched the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Suraksh Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana schemes. However, except for Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender, no other public representative of the ruling party attended the event.

However, all BJP legislators and even the former MLA N Indrasena Reddy were invited onto the dais, which was against the protocol.

The full hall was also captured by BJP workers, and the party also managed to get in a few burkha-clad women belonging to minority community.

The entire event was held under the direct supervision of Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy at a star hotel in the city.

A few officials, including Principal Secretary Finance Pradeep Chandra, SLBC Convener J Sitapathi and Bank Ombudsman Krishna Mohan, participated in the event. (INN)
