TRS Government Protecting Rohingyas: Smriti Irani

Union Minister Smriti Irani today alleged that TRS-led state government along with the MIM was protecting the illegal Rohingya immigrants who had infiltrated the country through Bangladesh.

Irani had come to the city to take part in the ongoing election campaign for the upcoming GHMC elections, and addressed the media at the BJP office.

Citing that scores of people had sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana state, she alleged that the ruling TRS along with the MIM had destroyed the state after coming to power by misleading its people, and that there was a need to teach a befitting lesson to the two parties in the upcoming elections.

Claimed that Hyderabad had 75,000 illegal immigrants, she said that the news about the infiltrators had been telecast prominently in all media channels, but that the state government had not taken any action on the issue, and asked it why it was silent on the issue.

She reiterated the controversial statement of Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on a surgical strike on the Old City to evict illegal immgrants, and said that the strike would be targeted at all those who were obstructing the development of the Old City.

She also claimed that the union government had given Rs 224 crore to the state government, but that CM KCR was lying about that to avoid letting any goodwill develop among the people for the BJP. She also said that the state government had not sent any comprehensive reports on the recent floods in the capital.

She added that the poor people of the state would have benefited if the Ayushman Bharat Scheme had been implemented in the state during this coronavirus period, and slammed KCR for denying the residents of Telangana the benefits being offered by the Centre, just to deny the BJP the credit.
