BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao alleged that the TDP leaders were trying to wash out their hands off their misdeeds by levelling politically motivated allegations against the BJP.

BJP Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao today derisively asked if TDP leader C M Ramesh was a "Satya Harischandra" that his comments against the IT raids on his residence and the places of his relatives should be taken seriously.
Rao contended that the IT officials had carried out raids not merely in Andhra Pradesh but in other states, too. He alleged that the TDP leaders were trying to wash out their hands off their misdeeds by levelling politically motivated allegations against the BJP. The TDP should not politicise the raids if it was committed to ferretting out corruption, he said.
Also, mere explanations by those raided cannot absolve them, and it was the IT officials who needed to give a clean chit to them, he said.
BJP AP president Kanna Lakshminarayana also said that the TDP leaders were making unnecessary noises on the IT raids in the state. The IT personnel had raided the properties of tax violators in the state earlier, too, but the TDP leaders were blaming the Centre only now, Lakshminarayana alleged. He also asked why the TDP leaders were worried about IT officials conducting raids on the companies of C M Ramesh and Sujana Chowdary, but did not respond when searches were carried at the residence of TDP MLA Modugula.
