Andhra Pradesh BJP President Kanna Lakshminarayana today refuted the allegations of YSR Congress Party MP Vijayasai Reddy that he (Lakshminarayana) had been bought out by the TDP's Sujana Chowdary for Rs 20 crores, and said that nobody could buy him.
He said that he would file a defamation case against Vijayasai Reddy for the latter's "baseless and false" comments against him.
Addressing mediapersons, Lakshminarayana reiterated his allegations that AP CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was playing politics with the lives of the people of the state.
He also alleged that the ruling party leaders were making contradictory statements on the issue of the purchase of coronavirus testing kits from South Korea.
"According to the purchase order, each kit cost the state government Rs 730 exclusive of GST. However, the Principal Secretary of the Medical, Health and Family Welfare department of the state said that the government had bought the kits for just Rs 630 per kit. Then the Sakshi newspaper published an article stating that each kit had cost Rs 1,200 and was manufactured in the Medtech zone of the state. It also said that the state government was exporting the kits to foreign countries. I don't understand how there is so much confusion on the issue," he said.
He also claimed that his tweet that the Chattisgarh government had bought each kit for just Rs 337 had caused an uproar among the ruling party leaders including Vijayasai Reddy, who chose to respond by making completely fabricated accusations to distract the attention of the people.
He told the YSRCP MP that levelling allegations against him was nothing but spitting towards the sky, and mocked Reddy that a person who had come out of jail was levelling allegations against him.
