Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan today announced the name of Arani Srinivasulu as the party's candidate for the Tirupati Assembly constituency seat as part of the TDP - BJP - Jana Sena alliance.
Consequently, Tirupati TDP in-charge Sugunamma, who has been sure that constituency would be allotted to the party and thereby the ticket to her, got a huge setback.
She broke down in tears in front of the media, saying that it was devastating that she had worked extremely hard for the party but did not finally get the ticket.
She urged Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan to reconsider the allocation of the Tirupati Assembly constitency to the Jana Sena Party as part of the alliance.
"I had agreed to support whichever candidate is selected as part of the alliance, but the party cadre is not agreeing to this decision," she said.
Sugunamma also asked what had happened to Naidu's surveys as she had worked tirelessly to strengthen the TDP.
She also said that she had fought every step of the way against the YSRCP leaders in Tirupati, and that if tickets were allotted to those who had come from the YSRCP, the people would not accept it.
She expressed confidence that Naidu and Kalyan would re-reconsider the decision once again.
She also said that she had no plans to contest as an independent.
