BJP Demands That KCR Speak Out On Miyapur Land Scam

The Telangana BJP unit said it would bring the "massive corruption" of the TRS government to the notice of the PM and national investigation agencies if KCR continued to stay silent.
Hyderabad | 10th June 2017
Telangana BJP official spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao today warned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of serious consequences if he failed to explain to the people of the state about the Miyapur land scam and name all its actors.

The BJP spokesperson demanded that the Chief Minister end his silence about the huge scam and its perpetrators, and open his mouth.

He also said that the local BJP unit would bring the massive corruption of the TRS government to the notice of the Prime Minister and national enforcement and investigation agencies if the Chief Minister continued to remain silent.

"It's becoming increasingly clear that KCR's silence has a reason. He cannot talk without indirectly admitting that his party leaders and his ministers are complicit in the massive scam still unraveling on a daily basis. The BJP's charge that the TRS government is steeped in corruption stands vindicated, and the TRS and Chief Minister KCR's government stand naked and exposed," he said.

The BJP leader also alleged that TRS secretary-general K Keshava Rao and his family members had bought 38 acres of forest and government land from the Goldstone group directors for a pittance. "They worked around the registrars through convenient transfers and reinstatements to ensure that a stooge registrar registered their lands. The BJP also strongly believes that this process certainly had the serious involvement of the Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali. The Deputy CM is already facing allegations of a high value benami land transfer, too," he said.

"Thousands of acres of land in Miyapur, Puppalaguda, Ibrahimpatam, Shamshabad, Dandu Mylaram and Ghansimiyaguda have been usurped by land sharks like Goldstone Prasad with the open support of the top government heads. TRS leaders and ministers have been using Prasad as a conduit and occupying lands, and buying the same lands for a pittance from his company. They are using the government's machinery in the revenue department to register these lands in the names of their families, friends and benamis. This has been the modus operandi," he added.

"The BJP clearly understands that the size of the scam is much bigger than anyone can imagine, as this modus operandi is being used not just around Hyderabad but in all the major districts of Telangana. The targets everywhere are the government lands, and the instruments are corrupt revenue officials & the system of 'anywhere registrations'," Rao claimed.
