BJP Demands Explusion Of Srinivas Goud From Cabinet
BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao demanded that CM K Chandrashekar Rao expel minister Srinivas Goud from the cabinet for opening fire in a public place yesterday.
BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expel Excise & Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud from his post for opening fire in the air during an official event of the State government in Mahbubnagar district.
He asked the minister what law allowed him to open fire in the air.
Speaking to media persons at the State BJP office, Raghunandan Rao wondered just how the minister could grab the gun of his personal security officer to execute his act.
Referring to the claims of the minister that he had fired rubber bullets into the air, Rao wondered why the personal security officer of the minister would have rubber bullets loaded in his gun intended to protect the minister.
He mockingly urged all other ministers and MLAs of the State to look into their personal security too - whether their personal security guards had rubber bullets or original bullets in their guns.
Stating that opening fire in public places was an offence, Rao said that DGP M Mahender Reddy had committed three mistakes in the issue. He said that the DGP had not issued orders to seize the weapon used to open fire in the air so far, that no criminal case had been filed against the minister for committing the offence, and that the gun was not sent to a forensic lab for examination.
He asked the DGP if he was trying to protect the SP by keeping silent on the issue, and demanded that the DGP act honestly in the case and send the gun for a forensic examination immediately.
He warned that the BJP would file a writ petition in the High Court if the DGP failed to concede their demand.
