The Telangana BJP today urged the state Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar to take action against Namasthe Telangana for violating the model code of conduct.
In a memorandum submitted to the CEO by BJP senior leader and national executive member N Indrasena Reddy, and the parliamentary party secretary K Balasubrahmanyam, the party claimed that the newspaper had published a news article in support of the ruling TRS, and that the same ought to be considered a paid article and added to the election expenditure of the TRS.
The BJP also said that the newspaper was indirectly campaigning on behalf of the ruling party, and that all such supportive news items should be considered paid news.
