Telangana BJP general secretary G Premender Reddy today wrote a letter to the Director General of the State's Anti-Corruption Bureau and requested him to inquire into the statement of BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that his party's MLAs were involved in corruption.
Reddy said that a leading newspaper had today carried a news item under the caption "Corrupt MLAs will be thrown out, KCR warns at plenary: Has list of MLAs extorting up to Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries" stating that KCR, while addressing his party plenary held at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, had made a statement that he had a list of MLAs who were extorting up to Rs 3 lakh out of the Rs 10 lakh being given to each Dalit Bandhu beneficiary, and money also from each 2 BHK housing scheme beneficiary.
The BJP leader said that the Telangana government had taken up the Dalit Bandhu and 2 BHK housing schemes as flagship programs involving thousands of crores of public money to benefit the dalits and the homeless poor. He said that the statement of the Chief Minister that his party's MLAs were engaging in extortion from the beneficiaries of the schemes was shocking, and needed thorough investigation by the ACB as huge public money was involved in the schemes.
Reddy said that since the Chief Minister had said that he has a list of BRS MLAs involved in corruption by extortion, it was necessary to issue a notice under section 91 of the CrPC to the CM asking him to hand over the list of the corrupt MLAs for the purpose of investigation into the matter.
